Application Developer - Mining Systems
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Develop and maintain programs, reports, forms, and interfaces in support of Arch's mining operations. In particular, provide support for the Ellipse ERP system to ensure timely and accurate processing of equipment maintenance, supply chain and financial transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Collect requirements from system users, design and develop new or modified programs, reports and interface systems (programs to enable the exchange of information between Ellipse and other systems) in support of Ellipse and related systems. Manage implementation and ensure proper testing. Execute program improvement/development projects related to implementation and conduct proper testing, in conjunction with users' testing. |

Ensure technical problems related to Ellipse updates are resolved in a timely fashion so that systems run smoothly |
|
Ensure production problems are resolved quickly |
|
In concert with users and IT management, establish priorities and work sequence for development and maintenance requests |
|
Provide technical and troubleshooting support to system users |
|
Create and maintain technical documentation and provide to users in a timely manner when needed |
|
Assist users with project plan development |
|
Educate/train high-level users on developed applications |
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in math, CS, engineering or business, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Application Development using JAVA
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with SQL (SQL Server/Oracle).
- Experience with core business operations such as Purchasing, Materials Management, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Equipment Maintenance and Work Order Management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong documentation skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years' experience in a HP-UX/Linux environment
- Experience with ABB's Ellipse ERP system
- Knowledge of other programming languages (VB, C, C++, Groovy, Jasper, ColdFusion, .net).
- Master's degree in math, CS, engineering or business
- Business Intelligence products like Business Objects, Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with ERP products.
