Director of Application Services
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for all phases of the life cycle planning for business applications in a manner consistent with the strategy and priorities defined by the corporation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the applications services team to ensure the group's efforts contribute to the company achieving its goals. o Work with the CIO and other IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy and initiatives of the organization. o Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement. o Ensure project plans are managed according to a defined project methodology. o Assign and manage priorities in conjunction with the customer community. |

Engage and communicate with internal customers on their business solution requirements, project progress, issues, and resolution options. Work closely with customers to ensure project deliveries are on time, within scope and highly satisfactory to the customer. |

Provide project sponsors support in justifying new projects including determining the requirements and capabilities of any proposed major system enhancements or new systems, the design, implementation, and operational costs, and the writing of project descriptions outlining the business case for such system or enhancement. |
|
Develop the skills and capabilities of the applications services team to meet the needs of the organization. |
|
Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost effectively meet the needs of the organization. |
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management or a related field.
- 10 years management experience in, or related to, the Information Technology area
- Demonstrated ability to lead, enable and motivate teams by providing advice and guidance.
- Openness to, and the ability to deal with, rapid change in business needs, processes and technologies.
- Strong information technology, or related, project management experience.
- Strong understanding of the interrelationship among business functions and systems.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
- Exposure to key regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA.
- Experience with and solid understanding of internal control principles, Information Security requirements and other audit compliance principles and requirements for application systems.
- Exposure with and solid understanding of System Development Lifecycle techniques
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehouse concepts.
- Experience managing an organization with multiple reporting levels.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and applications delivery, change control management and disaster recovery planning.
- Technology familiarity Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft (including MS Azure), ERP systems.
