End User Support Technician
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: This position provides tier 1 support for Arch Coal's end user support computing environment. Areas of responsibility include the configuration, optimization, monitoring, and management of the desktop computing environment. This includes ensuring the availability and security of new operating systems, web browsers, and applications that are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Desktop support by providing tier 1 computer support company-wide. Participates in desktop computer procurement, standardization of desktop configuration, evaluation of new desktop hardware and software, and provide service post-implementation. Manage desktop infrastructure environment including desktop standard templates, desktop pool, and user management. Maintain relationship with 3rd parties providing hardware and software support. |

Projects related to improvements in desktop performance, security and maintenance to improve the end user experience. |
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, math, engineering, or business or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience with Windows operating systems
- 2 years of experience with Windows hardware in a business environment
- Experience with an enterprise trouble ticketing system
- Familiarity with latest version of Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel 5-10% of time
- Ability to crawl, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Requires good manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications
- Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work outside of normal work hours to address emergencies and perform scheduled off-hour activities
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with desktop technologies Sophos, Bitlocker, Direct Access and SCCM
- 4 years of experience with Windows operating systems
- 4 years of experience with Windows hardware in a business environment
