Payroll Administrator
JOB LOCATION: Arch Coal, Inc. St. Louis Corporate Office
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls, in compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Learning, documenting, and streamlining processes for the new payrolls will be of utmost importance.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Complete assigned payrolls accurately and timely; responsible for 13-15 payrolls. Involves: Gathering timesheets and changes (direct deposit forms, tax deduction forms, garnishments, etc.). Entering changes and timesheet information, ensuring overtime is calculated correctly. Reviewing earnings and deduction reports for accuracy and making appropriate adjustments. Ensure payments are made electronically. Training new users, documenting and streamlining processes Monitor accurate setup of garnishments from third party vendor. |

Quarterly and annual review of employees' W2 records requiring up-to-date knowledge on payroll tax and legislative requirements. Run report and review each employee's tax records to ensure accuracy of W2 amounts. |

Assist in testing of customizations and Workday/WorkForce enhancements and other projects as assigned. Complete the monthly reporting to The Bureau of Labor Statistics |
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years' payroll experience
- Working knowledge of in-house payroll system and time and attendance systems
- Current knowledge of payroll tax and legislative requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Detail-oriented
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Some college background
- Experience with Workday payroll system
- Proficient in Excel and Word
